Alex's Farm

At last I've managed to complete a card and start blogging again in 2012. It's taken a long time for Mr Mojo to get started again after the Christmas card making splurge but with a grandnephew turning six on Friday there was a need.  This seems to happen to me during January and last year I'm afraid I resorted to buying a card for Alex but decided it wasn't going to happen this year.

From a very young age Alex has loved nothing better than being out and about on the farm with his Dad so when I found Cuddly Buddly had two free farm themed downloads, Heartly Farm and Heartly Farm 2, that was the theme decided.  I've also turned another year older since my last posting and I loved a stepper card that I received from a crafting buddy, and how it had been decorated, so decided to use it as the inspiration for Alex's one.  I'm not very good with a craft knife but this just required two straight cuts.

I used the My Craft Studio Professional graphics programme to resize and flip the images but am disappointed with how they have printed out.  The images are fuzzy and appear out of focus.  This was confirmed when I took some of the images into a word programme and printed them from there.  The outlines were so much more defined.   The ducks attached to the tractor picture were printed through the word document and the others through MCS.

Most of the images were resized so that they could be matt and layered using Spellbinders nestabilities dies and then grass embellishments were cut and layered using a quickutz die.  A little bit of Stampin' up garden green ribbon and a few peeloff dots and that was it.  Here's a view from the back.

Off to put this one in the post now that it is complete.  Thanks for stopping by to visit today and hopefully it won't be as long before the next post appears
