It's a grand niece's sixteenth birthday today and this is the card I've sent her. Whilst looking through the crafty stash stored under the bed these toppers appeared. They were bought from Lakeland when they stocked a range of crafting items and although I had used some to make a couple of cards a few years back there were still a few left over which had been forgotten about. There were enough toppers left to make two square cards like this one so another card was made for the daughter of a friend who celebrates her birthday later this year.
The purple, pink and red colour scheme isn't one I'd normally pick but it looked okay with matching backing papers and the Happy Birthday paper which is from the Cuddly Buddly download A Patchwork of Papers Purple. The sentiment is from Stampin' up's Petite Pairs stamp set and is stamped using Encore purple metallic ink and punched out using Stampin' up's oval and scalloped oval punches. The purple ink was also sponged on the scalloped edges of the card. Apart from a few gem stickers and a bow these were the only extra embellishments used.
Here are the other two cards I've made using these toppers.
Thanks for reading today

The colours looks real pretty together Liz. Bags and shoes are all the rage again. Think I have similar toppers in a box hidden away somewhere!! Love your cards, I'm sure your niece will be delighted with it. Real Wintry again. Carolxx
