Boxes of Purple Roses

There have been two crafting buddies with birthday's this past week.  Last Wednesday it was Carol's and today it is Brenda's birthday and it was back to rolling roses and using Nitwit papers to make their cards.

Carol's Card

Their cards are cased from this one but with a change of colour scheme to green and purple.  The patterned papers are from the Nitwit Collection Time for Tea and, to compliment the green swirls on the box, the tag was stamped using the large swirl stamp from the Stampin' up Baroque stamp set using their certainly celery ink.  Certainly celery card and ribbon were also used.

The edge of the insert was also decorated using the swirl stamp in both certainly celery and Encore purple metallic ink.  The edge was masked off and Stampin' up's stamp-a-ma-jig tool was used to position the stamp to get the overlapping effect with the two colours of ink.  To match the patterned paper of the box punched flowers using the Tonic small flower punch were added to the decorated edge.

Although it was Carol's birthday on the Wednesday we brought along her cards and gifts to the Crafting Bee on Tuesday and I had another play at making cupcakes.   The decorations on these ones were all courtesy of Dr Oetker.  The chocolate ones even have edible glitter on them.

It was just as well we did our celebrations in the afternoon as Carol ended up in hospital that evening.  There she toasted her birthday with three pints but it wasn't the usual celebratory drink she was enjoying.  She's at home again and hopefully will be in full swing keeping us in order soon.

Brenda's Card

On both cards large green adhesive pearls by Hobby House were added.  Encore purple metallic ink was sponged around the scalloped edges of the card, on the edges of the roses and around the purple tag.  Two colours of green card were used to punch the leaves from and their edges were sponged with Stampin' up's old olive ink.

Thanks for reading today and I hope Brenda has a lovely birthday.
