This is my entry to the Penny Black Saturday Challenge this week where the style requested was Shabby Chic and it's also the result of the bits and pieces that were on my table for WOYWW?. I've never really tried this style before as I quite like to have everything clean straight and uncrumpled but as I enjoy the challenges I wanted to have a dabble. I'm now having one of those rare moments where I'm actually going to be reluctant to part with this card and let it wing it's way to Wales. I'm happy that it's for a special birthday though and hopefully Rachel will keep it with all her other eighteenth birthday mementos. It seems no time since she was a tiny baby and here she is ready to set out to university. Good luck with your studies Rachel.
The stamped image I've used for this one is Bountiful (4065K) and I've coloured it with Promarkers. I got a bit adventurous with my colouring this time as I usually follow the colours on the back of the stamp. I'm not very good at deciding on colour, and then how to shade without an example to follow, but as I had decided to use pink and chocolate as a colour theme then I had to break out of this comfort zone. The stamped sentiment is from Hero Arts.
The spotted backing papers were from Kanban and the chocolate pearlescent card from the Papeterie. The larger flowers and daisies were made using diecuts and puches and the roses, rosebuds and sequin flowers were from my stash although I have to confess that I bought the chocolate roses especially from Wild Orchid Crafts and they arrived yesterday just in time to be included. Here's a close up of the corner arrangement.
I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges
