September ATCs - Colour and Texture

 

The theme for our craft group ATC swap this month is colour and texture and this is my interpretation inspired also by the blue and green challenge at Allsorts.  The text background was created on the computer and on to that I used versamark ink to stamp the Night Masquerade stamp by Butterfly Kisses.  There are three different mediums used to colour the mask.  Firstly the top and bottom sections were coloured with chalks and on top of the bottom section cosmic shimmers were applied to give the colours a shine.  The middle section was embossed with Stampendous Aqua Tinsel embossing powder.  The embossing powder attached itself over the edges of the other coloured sections which meant there wasn't a hard border line between them.

The edges of the ATCs are sponged with Brilliance inks pearlescent jade and pearlescent sky blue and finally a clear Sakura glitter gelly roll was taken along the very edge.  The swirls and tear on the image were also coloured with the clear glitter pen. 

Embellishments were added to give more texture to the project and they included a padded butterfly, punched butterflies, a feather and a gem.  Hopefully you can pick out some of the finer detail in this close up.
