Nevaeh from Saturated Canary

 

This is a card I've made using the digital stamp Naveah designed by Krista Smith.  Krista's range of digital stamps can be found here at Saturated Canary Etsy store.  There's also a Saturated Canary blog and challenge blog to follow.  Although this card is monochrome Krista's designs are ideal to experiment with colour and practice your colouring techniques.  I've coloured Nevaeh with Promarkers.

I'd had the bits and pieces set out ready to make this card for a few weeks and now with all the challenges related to Valentine's Day and red I decided it was a good time to put it together and enter some.

There's a mixture of patterns here with spots, stripes and gingham.  The gingham and Happy Birthday paper is from a Cuddly Buddly download called A Patchwork of Papers - Red.  The spotted ribbon pleated down the side of the card was from Costco.  I have several spools of their ribbon so this may be a way I can get around to using them up.  

The flowers were cut and given to me by Linda.  I had admired the layered flowers she used on her cards and after asking how she had made them she sent me a selection to play with.  The leaves around them were punched using the X-cut birch botanical embossing punch.

The greeting is from the Stampin' up set Sincere Salutations and was stamped using their Riding Hood Red ink.  Stampin' up Chocolate Chip ink was sponged around the edge and around the scalloped card base from Craft UK.  I love their range of scalloped cards.
