Penny Black Saturday Challenge 187 - Case It

This is my entry for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge this week which is Case It. The first Saturday of the month is now a Case It challenge where you take inspiration from a card created by one of the design team members. This month we had Debby's card to follow. I used Debby's layout and stitching as inspiration for my entry and adapted it to fit an A5 landscape card.

The main image is the Penny Black stamp Cheesecake Parade and it was coloured using Promarkers. I had a rummage through unused kits this week and found the backing papers for this from a pad called Ultimate Cardmaker's Creative Pack from Hot of the Press. It had been part of a crafting kit from QVC. There are some lovely co-ordinating papers in this one so I think it'll remain out now that I've found it.

The embellishments were made using a variety of punches and dies. The large flowers were cut using the Tim Holtz Tattered Floral Sizzix die and then the pale lilac ones were embossed using the Cuttlebug swiss dots embossing folder. For their centres I punched half inch circles and shaped them with an embossing tool. The small flowers were punched using a Tonic punch and the leaves were cut using the X-cut birch botanical embossing punch. Last Christmas I received the Martha Stewart garden trellis border punch and it had its first use on this card. The small dots in the corners were made using a ring binder punch.

The sentiment was stamped using a stamp from the Stampin' up set Sincere Salutations and then cut and layered using a die from the Spellbinders nestabilities set classic ovals large.
